International Trademark Association is looking to fill an internship position. IP Law, or related majors are encouraged to apply.

International Trademark Association is a global association of brand owners and professionals dedicated to supporting trademarks and complementary intellectual property (IP) to foster consumer trust, economic growth, and innovation, and committed to building a better society through brands.

Our membership comprises nearly 6,500 organizations from 185 countries. The organizations represent more than 34,350 professionals, including brand owners from major corporations, small- and medium-sized enterprises, law firms, and nonprofits. Our community also includes government agency members, professors, and law students.

This position consists of a flexible 15-20 hour per week schedule at our New York City office which can consist of a mostly hybrid or a remote schedule.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to:

BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT

  • Research and investigate new and best practices on Business Development opportunities, including monetization of offerings and gamification.
  • Coordinate communications plan in collaboration with Marketing and Communications, set calendar of events, and incorporate Business Development into their broader marketing plan for the Association.
  • Coordinate with the sponsorship team to ensure alignment and implementation with sponsor benefits.
  • Collaborate with the graphic designer to build collateral and other assets that represent the Business Development brand.
  • Support the planning and promotion of pre-Annual Meeting receptions.
  • Secure and train staff, vendors, and talent for Business Development offerings implemented in-person or virtually.
  • Provide robust recaps and debriefs and develop data reports maintained for historical records.

EXTERNAL RELATIONS

  • Research and write portions of submissions to foreign governments to advocate INTA’s positions during the negotiation of free trade agreements.
    • Assist Harmonization Committee with baseline and gap analyses of free trade agreement provisions involving multiple countries.
    • Assist Directors in advocating INTA’s priorities regarding pending bills and new bills to be introduced into government.
    • Draft speeches and talking points on specific advocacy issues.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • MUST BE current law student (LLM).
    • Minimum 3.0 GPA

    SKILLS DESIRED

    • Superior written and oral communication skills
    • Advance knowledge of MS Office and database management
